BLAST and TW Steel launch world’s first esports watch
Delighted to announced BLAST has partnered with leading watch brand TW Steel to create the world’s first ever esports watch.
TW Steel have taken inspiration in the watch design from one of the world’s most popular and played computer games and combined it with elements that the Dutch watch brand have become renowned for over recent years – design, attitude and Swiss quality standard.
Watches will be available in two options, Maverick Chronograph, which includes a Super Luminova Counter Strike-inspired crosshair, all black design and a BLAST logo. The second option, Volante, features a Counter-Strike-inspired map design etched into the watchface.
A limited edition one-off TW Steel esports watch will be specially made for the winners of the highly anticipated BLAST Global Final, which sees one team crowned champions of the world and handed $1,000,000 in prize money. This annual BLAST tradition will immortalise the winning players’ efforts in a one-off watch.
TW Steel – meaning ‘The Watch in Steel’ – stands unique amongst its rivals by concentrating exclusively on developing and leading the oversized watch market. The company was established in 2005 by the father and son team of Jordy and Ton Cobelens in the Netherlands. TW Steel offers a defined sense of individuality with style and quality assured.
Leo Matlock, Commercial Director for BLAST, said: “We’re hugely excited to be able to join forces with TW Steel to offer the first ever esports watch. Counter-Strike and esports lovers will be proud to own and show-off a piece of gaming history while owning a highly functional and reliable watch that pays tribute to their favourite game.
“BLAST has activated and teamed with a diverse range of commercial partners recently, which is testament to our ambition to become a multifaceted esports company – this innovative and industry leading collaboration with TW Steel is further proof we’re on the right track to achieving that aim.”
Jordy Cobelens, CEO of TW Steel, said: “We are all about creating exciting moments at TW Steel so joining forces with BLAST is perfect for us. We share a passion for action and timing, we speak the same language. We’re looking forward to making a big statement together. When you see how we incorporated both worlds in our two special edition watches, I’m very confident we’ll create big things in the future.”
A limited number of the Counter-Strike-inspired watches will go on sale with customers now able to pre-order the watches online at shop.blast.tv. The watches have been exclusively launched for the BLAST Spring Final, and are available at a pre-order price until June 21st.
