Road to BLAST Premier Showdown unveiled
After the 3 weeks and a shock or two in the BLAST Premier Spring Series, number 1 ranked team Astralis will be joined by MiBR, NIP, Team Vitality, 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses at the BLAST Premier Showdown. With four of the current top 10 teams in the world already confirmed, four more teams will get the chance to fight it out for a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Final in Moscow in June.
The final four spots will be made up of winners from BLAST Premier Spring Qualifiers.
We’re proud to announce the Elisa Invitational and the CIS Cup as our first Spring Qualifiers, with them all taking place over the next three months. Through a mix of open tournament play and the regions’ finest teams, the qualifiers will bring the BLAST experience to new parts of the world.
For the Nordic region, BLAST has joined forces with its Finnish 2020 media rights partner Elisa to create the “Elisa Invitational, a BLAST Premier Qualifier”. The tournament takes place from 1st to 3rd May in Tampere, Finland and will be between two teams from each of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland such as local powerhouses ENCE and North. With teams fighting for a Finnish slot from April through Elisa Viihde, the Elisa Invitational, a BLAST Premier Qualifier will be broadcast by Elisa and BLAST Premier Twitch.
Across the CIS region, we’re proud to be working with our partner in the CIS, Winstrike, to run the “CIS Cup, a BLAST Premier Qualifier” on 28th -31st May in Moscow, Russia. Playing through April and May, teams from across the whole CIS region will compete via a range of tournaments such as the Winstrike Cup to get the chance to get into the CIS Cup proper. Follow the action on Winstrike’s Twitch channel, on social media platform VK and BLAST Premier Twitch.
Two more BLAST Premier Showdown spots for the Spring season will be open to winners of other qualifiers, to be announced soon. Qualifying for the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, based in different regions will be released in the future.
Spring Showdown and Final go online
BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and the BLAST Premier Spring Final events will be played remotely in response to recent global concerns. These tournaments will be an immersive live broadcast unlike anything done before and sit within BLAST Sessions, a broadcast season of competitive and entertainment programming.
